Work Group Charge Assess the knowledge of:
Partnership for Food Protection’s (PFP) Model for Local Federal/State Planning and Coordination of Field Operations and Training

WG Charge Initial step: create a tool to determine knowledge & use of Model Document. Survey tool was created with intent to use FDA survey process. Delays required alternate survey dissemination tool.

Survey Dissemination MFRP Alliance/AFDO sent survey to Manufactured Food Program Manager FDA internal dissemination to districts and others

Survey Respondents 80 responses from various sources: 36% FDA & 64% states 92% involved in workplanning for manufactured foods

Survey Respondents Of the 80 survey respondents, 66 answered the question about the Model Document: 58% or 38 were familiar with the Model Document 42% or 28 were not familiar with the Model Document 14 respondents skipped the question altogether

Use of Model Document 31% indicated they use the Model for workplanning 69% indicated they did not or were not sure Survey comments indicated use of some components, not strict adherence

Survey Highlights Suggested Model Document topics and activities lack clarity 80% of respondents indicate meeting with partner agencies with some degree of regularity 28% responded they use a single reconciled inventory for workplanning while 26% said they did not

Survey Summary Overall, low familiarity with the Model Document
Anecdotal feedback indicates unclear if respondents were individuals involved in workplanning Plan to redistribute the Model Document to local, state and federal partners Request feedback/suggestions

Next Steps Work with State Liaisons to identify workplanning partners at Local/State level Identify federal partners involved in workplanning Distribute Model Document with cover memo directly to state and FDA District Workplanners
