1 How to use a Heart Rate Monitor

2 Equipment needed Heart Rate Monitor Watch Transmitter Strap

3 STEP 1 Step 1: Put on all equipment
Be sure to grab a strap that fits (different sizes) Remember to wipe a small amount of water on the transmitter before you put it on. (DO NOT PUT THE TRANSMITTER UNDER WATER!!!)

4 STEP 2 Step 2: All monitors should start on the home screen. This were the current time is displayed (time may be incorrect and that is okay).

5 STEP 3 Step 3: Press the RED start button. This will take you to the resting heart rate screen.

6 STEP 4 Step 4: Once your resting heart rate appears, press the red button again to begin your workout. The stop watch will being timing.

7 STEP 5 Step 5: Once you have begun your workout, your goal is to remain in you target heart rate zone (THR) for 15 minutes. Our target heart rate zone is (beats per minute (bpm)). **Remember if you are above or below your THR, the TZ timer will stop.**

8 STEP 6 Step 6: At the end of class THR will be checked on your watch. Press the BLUE button to stop the workout.

9 STEP 7 Step 7: Press the blue button again to take you back to the home screen (time screen).

10 STEP 8 Step 8: Now press the top right hand side button. This will take you to a screen that reads, “FILE.”

11 STEP 9 Step 9: Once on the file screen, Press the RED button.

12 STEP 10 Step 10: After pushing the red button, your screen should show “In Zone.” This screen tells you how long you were in your THR range during your workout & your average HR.

13 STEP 11 Step 11: Press the top right hand button to cycle through screens that show how long your were above & below your THR, your exercise time, and the target heart rate zone that each watch is set at, which is also your goal.

14 STEP 12 Step 12: Once you have completely finished, press the BLUE button until you return to the home screen.

15 Reasons why the monitors may not work?
If the transmitter is not placed in the right spot (right below your chest). -How to fix: Adjust until you get a reading If the strap is not tight enough -How to fix: Get a different size strap ***THESE ARE THE ONLY REASONS WHY A MONITOR MAY NOT WORK. YOU NEED TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE ON YOUR OWN.***
