6 Fig. 4 Blocking of eosinophil viability activity in serum by antibodies to cytokines. Serum from subject 6 in trial 1 was pretreated with anti-IL-5, anti-IL-3, and/or anti-GM-CSF antibody (5 μg/ml final concentration). Eosinophils from normal donor were incubated with pretreated serum. After 4 days at 37° C, eosinophil viability was determined as described in Methods section. Single samples were counted by using fluorescence-activated cell-sorting technology. Medium shows viability of eosinophils cultured without subject's serum. GM, anti-GM-CSF.
