Welcome to our new members Dan McFarland Dale Paney

3 Welcome to the 2019 ARRIS Lisle Golf League
Course: Village Greens of Woodridge Season: ~18 rounds Mondays starting April 22th 2-9 week sessions No golf: May 27th, September 2nd – there will be golf on July 1st Tee Times start at 4:15pm (then every 9 minutes) Website: arrisgolf.com, last year’s results 2018.arrisgolf.com

4 Cost $18 per round (9 holes)
$167 due for regular players for each 9 round session $162 for 9 rounds + $5 league dues (for league costs including trophy, prizes, pizza party, etc) If you are a regular player YOU MUST PAY FOR EACH 9 WEEK SESSION BEFORE IT STARTS Please don’t pay for both 9 weeks sessions up front (just another thing I have to keep track of)! Guest or Substitute players will pay for themselves at the course before each round.

5 How things work…in/out status
Each week an will go out to all players asking for their IN/OUT status for the upcoming round. The will contain a link to set your status using the website. THIS IS THE PREFERRED METHOD of declaring your IN/OUT status for the round. you can declare your status for ANY round by logging in to the website and going to My Profile.

6 How things work…tee times
Tee Times will be assigned “randomly”. If you have a preference (early or late) let me know and I will TRY and accommodate Scheduled Tee times will be sent out in an (and also on the website) before noon on the day of the round. If you must cancel or change a tee time contact me before noon on the day of the round. If you must cancel at the last minute call or text me at

7 How things work…playing
Please show up at least minutes before your scheduled tee time as often we are able to tee off early. Each group MUST keep a paper and an online (mobile website) scorecard. Turn in paper scorecard after the round or the next day by noon Only ONE member of the group should enter the online scorecard at arrisgolf.com. Failure to enter an online card will result in penalty (negative) points for each group member.

8 How things work…after the round
continue to the back nine if it’s open or join us for a beverage and some food at a local watering hole (Nonnies?) Following the round and after all score cards have been turned in net scores will be calculated and points awarded based on order of finish The results will be ed and posted to the website League standings and new handicaps will also be on the website

9 Outings Optional rounds of 18 holes at surrounding courses
Try to have at least one per month Tee off early afternoon Set up by members of the league Outing organizer receives bonus

10 Handicaps We use the USGA formula to compute handicap indexes (see the website for information) Handicap indexes are based on scores from the current and previous seasons maximum of the last 20 league scores are used everyone who played last year has a starting handicap index If you are new or have no previous rounds you will get a handicap index on your first scoring round. A course handicap is calculated using your handicap index and the slope of the tee played on the course. Course Handicap = handicap Index * (Slope Rating of Tee on Course / 113) if your handicap index is 6 your front 9 (white tee) handicap at Village Greens is 6.4 The course handicap is subtracted from your round score to determine your net score.

11 Scoring For 2019 we are continuing to use a FedEx Cup like scoring system Points will be awarded based on order of finish Points will accumulate all season and a Championship tournament will determine the winner There will be no weekly bonus point games $10 million will NOT be awarded to the winner (only a fabulous trophy, a gift card, and the green jacket)

12 Scoring Each week regular players receive points determined by the order of finish (net score) all regular players who play each week will receive points (not just the top 10) 1st place gets 100 pts, 2nd 60 pts, 3rd 38 points…32nd gets 5 pts A complete description of scoring will be on the website

13 Majors There will be 2 Majors…once per 9 week session
The date of the major will be set before the start of the 9 week session Most likely the 5th round of the session First major will be May 21st, second is July 23rd Since Majors should be more difficult (and more points are available) we will play one tee back (men play blue and women play white tees) Handicaps are adjusted to account for the more difficult tee Points are awarded based on order of finish (net score). 1st gets 150pts, 2nd gets 83pts, 3rd gets 53pts…32nd gets 7pts
