Linear Equations (Day 1)
OBJECTIVE FOR THE DAY Linear Equations (Day 1) Given a linear equation in slope-intercept form, identify the line's slope and y-intercept. Given the slope and y-intercept of a line, write line's equation in slope-intercept form. Given the slope of a line and a point (x,y), Sketch a graph of the line. Determine the line's y-intercept. Write the equation for the line in slope-intercept form. Given two points on a line, Determine the line's slope and y-intercept.

FUN FACT OF THE DAY DID YOU KNOW???
Did you know there are just four numbers (after 1) which are the sums of the cubes of their digits: 153 = 1^3 + 5^3 + 3^3 370 = 3^3 + 7^3 + 0^3 371 = 3^3 + 7^3 + 1^3 and 407 = 4^3 + 0^3 + 7^3 ? Did you know 1,741,725 = 1^7 + 7^7 + 4^7 + 1^7 + 7^7 + 2^7 + 5^7 ?

BRAIN TEASER If I am a three digit number and my first digit is seven less than second digit and the second digit is four times that of third digit. What digit am I? Answer: 182

EXTRA CREDIT PI DAY POSTER CONTEST
Posters may be no larger the 42” in height and width. They are for display purposes. Posters are to be two dimensional, able to lay flat. Posters must relate in some way to the Number Pi. π Posters will be judged with regards to the clarity of mathematical content, relevance to pi, how interesting the topic is, and over all attractiveness. Posters submitted from my class will receive 10 bonus points on the next test.
