We made predictions after watching the book Farmer Duck. We also related Farmer Duck to other stories we read and learned about nouns: Proper, singular and plural. We made our own book of farm clues and had fun with the Doreen Cronin series (Click, Clack, Moo) and the story Who Took the Farmer’s Hat? We used our imagination to write about what we would use the farmer’s hat for. The farm was also a great place to begin discussing the concepts of Living v. Nonliving things, and Needs v. Wants.
