In looking to the future of the benchmarking and best practices process, there are several areas to cover …
Framework – How does the content we have covered up to this point fall within an overall supply chain framework? What new areas can we examine? What should we add in 2006?
Participants – Today, participation is focused on shippers. Should logistics service providers (e.g., carriers, 3PL’s, ocean ports, etc.) or supply chain technology vendors be included? What changes to participation, if any, would add the most value to the shipper consortiums that are the prime focus of the process?
Reports – The long, analytical reports from the first review are being replaced with online query and search tools. Would it still be helpful to have short (3 – 5 page) reports that are focused on specific issues? If yes, which issues should receive top priority for analysis?
Enrollments – How can we accelerate enrollments?
