3. LAC Grant Money Support
Hired an undergraduate student hourly to manually transcribe audio files in ATLAS.ti.
Paid for a total of 29 hours, including IRB and software training, meetings to review progress and address questions/technical issues, and transcription of approx.10 hours of audio (which took 24 hours to complete).
Invaluable to the speed and success of our project!

Used ATLAS.ti to transcribe recorded audio, and code for qualitative themes and patterns.
Coding approach:
First round: Structural by question and response.
Second round: Emotions: frustration, thankfulness, etc.; value and belief statements; positive/negative

Issues of memory for applicants from five years before study
