A Note from the Teacher
Week of 9/19 – 9/23
Keep up the hard work practicing multiplication facts and reading every night. Students in 3R are excited about seeing their progress already—how awesome!
What’s Happening in...
Reading: We will be reading the Lesson 5 story called “A Mountain of History.” We will discover how landmarks help us understand our country’s story. We will work on finding the main idea and details of a story. Also, we will practice asking/answering questions while reading and studying multiple meaning words.
Language Arts: We will work on simple and compound sentences.
Spelling: Lesson 5. Reminder: Lists are on the back of the newsletters, and in your 3rd grader’s Green Folder (on Monday).
Math: We will continue to work multiplication strategies, and multiplying 3 numbers.
Social Studies: We will learn about the three types of communities
and review for the
Chapter 1
Test on Friday.
Announcements
Have you heard about our new Character Education program at KES? Each month, we will focus on a core value. This month is Citizenship. Be sure to encourage your 3rd grader to be a good citizen at school. He/she may earn Kudos and be featured on the morning announcements and Character Wall!
