2. What is an Interactive Science Notebook (ISN)?
An ISN is a personalized science book.
It is a portfolio of each student’s work in ONE spot that is used in class EVERY DAY. This is a great resource for STUDYING for quizzes & tests and Completing homework assignments.
It is a great ORGANIZATIONAL tool that gives students permission to be COLORFUL and CREATIVE to show me what they know or have learned.
It allows students to be like a REAL SCIENTIST by asking QUESTIONS, RECORDING what they observe, and SHARING it with their classmates!

3. The ISN is divided into two sections
Left Side-
Student provides information to go on this side.
Even numbered pages
Output side or product side
Right Side
Teacher provides information to go on this side.
Odd numbered pages
Input side or info side

5. Notebook Rules Do not RIP OUT pages or tear corners.
All handouts MUST BE GLUED IN!
No DOODLES unless it relates to science.
The ISN should only be used for SCIENCE CLASS and COMES TO CLASS EVERYDAY!
Each page should have the PAGE# & TITLE.
BE COLORFUL, CREATIVE, & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK!

6. Notebook Expectations
If you are absent from class, you need to get a classmate’s or my ISN to get what you missed.
I will check ISNs. I will check every 25 pages.
Be sure to have everything glued and labeled when I check ISNs.
