2. How Much Salt Does It Take To Make An Egg Float

3. Background
I Chose this because I was on youtube and I saw a video about this experiment. I Thought the experiment was a good idea. So I tried it and here I am. I do not have any background with this experiment.

4. Hypothesis
If I add 3 cups of salt then the egg will float.

5. Variables independent Variables: amount of salt
Dependent Variables:Height of egg in water
Constants: Same type of cup, same type of water, same type of salt,same types of eggs.
Control Variable: The cup of just water

6. Procedure 1.Put water in 9, 16oz cups.
2.Label three cups, just water cup1, just water cup2,and just water cup3; Then label 3 other cups, ¼ salt cup1, ¼ salt cup2,¼ salt cup 3, Label the last three cups ½ cup of salt, ½ cup of salt cup1,½ cup of salt cup2, ½ cup of salt cup3
3.Add ¼ cups of salt to all of the cups that say ¼ cup of salt; then add ½ cup of salt to all the cups that say ½ cup of salt
4.Stir the salt in the the ¼ cups and ½ cups
5.Put one egg in each cup that has a label
6.Now record your data

9. Conclusion 1.How much salt does it take to make an egg float.
2.Making an egg float in a 16oz cup takes ¼ cups of salt. I did 3 catagories and 2 of the categories succeeded in making an egg float.
3.The ½ cup of salt made the egg float the most
4.My hypothesis was, it will take 3 cups of salt to make an egg float. My data Doesn’t support my data. Its not supported because it only takes ¼ of a salt to make an egg float.
5.I learned that it doesn’t take much salt to make an egg float.
6.There were no errors/problems in this experiment. I would do different eggs and different cups that can hold more water.
