What are Carbohydrates?
Carbohydrates are the sugars, starches and fibers found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products. Function: provide fuel for cellular respiration needed for energy 5/22/2019 Add a footer

Types of Carbs Simple Carbs Contains one or two sugars Examples

Types of Carbs Complex carbohydrates (polysaccharides) three or more sugars. Starchy foods: beans, peas, peanuts, potatoes, corn, whole- grain breads and cereals. The difference between the two forms chemical structure and how quickly the sugar is absorbed and digested 5/22/2019 Add a footer

Fats Fats (lipids) most energy dense
