Welcome back!! Chapter 1 At Rehoboth Christian Middle School, each year students move up a grade. Not knowing what the school year will look like, but knowing that they have to be prepared. For they know that the most challenging class in Mid School is Mr. Morris’s class. They heard stories from other students that at times they would cry and call home to their parents. No one ever wanted this to happen to them, so they did what they had to do. However there is one student who did the opposite of every other student. His name was Charley Bugarton and he was a new seventh grader this year. No student ever wanted to talk to Charley because he looked scary and he was mean. Even teachers did not bother this boy, for he was capable of doing anything. He never did his homework, never volunteered, all he did was pick on little kids. Ladies and gentlemen, Charley Bugarton is a mid school bully!

Mr. Morris class Chapter 2
One day Charley decided that he was actually going to go to school today. He had gone to all his classes and did nothing. He got 3 PNH’s in one class period and he didn’t care. He was almost done with all his core classes, but he had one more before lunch. That class was Mr. Morris’s class and this was his first time attending class. Charley thought that he could go into this class room and sleep for forty- five minutes. However he walked into the classroom with his jacket on and sat down in the back row. Soon the class door closed and all the students had their homework out. Mr. Morris checked everyone’s homework and he walked up to Charley’s desk. Half asleep, Charley looked up and saw the teacher standing in front of him. Mr. Morris told Charley that jackets were not allowed and sleep should be left at home. Not knowing what to do charley sat their and did nothing.

Chapter 2 continued.. Mr. Morris also told Charley to get his homework out and turn it in. However, Charley did not have that either, so he was sent to the secretary to call his parents. Charley called his Mom, but she did not answer, so he unfortunately had to call his Father. He did not want to call his Father because he was strict and he knew he would be reprimanded. Charley’s father answered and Charley told him that he had not completely his homework and he had nine PNH’s. If he obtains one more PNH Charley will have to attend Saturday school with his parents. Furious about the news he received from his son, he told his son he was going to have to change his attitude about school. He was going to have to start doing his homework and he has to make sure he gets all his work done. As a parent of Charley his Dad said he was going to be there more to help. Charley realized that he didn’t want to be a bully no more. He wanted to learn how to be more successful in whatever he did.

Time For Change Chapter 3
The next day of school charley made sure he had all his homework and he attended all his classes. The teachers were so surprised at Charley’s ability to learn and enjoyed having another student participate. Although Charley had done all his homework and attended all classes he felt that wasn’t enough. So, instead of being quiet and staying to himself, he wanted to make friends with other students. He began to talk more in class and when he had a question he asked for help. The most important question charley had came on a typical Tuesday morning. He asked the question “what is Success?” Not listening in class before made him miss this section about success. So Mr. Morris made Ted, another seventh grader began to tutor Charley. At first Ted did not want to help Charley because Charley used to bully Ted. Ted was terrified of Charley, but since they had to be partners Ted had to work with what he had.

The 5 pillars of Success Chapter 4
Since Charley didn’t have any notes on success, Ted had to teach Charley about success. He first started by telling Charley, that the only way to make it in Mr. Morris's class, he would have to know the five pillars of success. The five pillars of success are motivation, attitude, tools, perseverance, and setting up to win. All of these pillars take time to learn, and does not come in one day. However, as a person keeping these steps in mind helps many students. After many times of hearing about these pillars they become easy to remember. Because Mr. Morris says, practice makes permanent.

Motivation Motivation
Ted told Charley that the first pillar of success is motivation. Motivation is all about believing that as a student at Rehoboth Middle School anybody can do it. Charley was confused because he never believed in himself. He thought that all he was good at, was beating up other people and being mean. Never did he believe that he was able to make it in Mr. Morris class or even any other class. Ted told Charley that when he was small his Father had left him and his Mother by themselves. He never came back, but he believed that one day he would hear from him again. Then one day while he was sleeping the door bell rang and it was his Father. He believed his Father would come back some day and he did.

Attitude Charley was amazed with Teds story and wanted to know more. However, Ted wanted to teach Charley everything he needed to know before class begun. The next pillar of success is attitude which means surround yourself with the positive. Change the world in every way you can and never think negative. When taking tests or quizzes, always have fun and believe that when taking a test or quiz you will get a good grade.
10
Tools The third pillar to success is having tools. When going into any classroom every student has to always make sure they are prepared. They make sure they have all their supplies for learning. If any student does not have the supplies they need then the teacher will give a tardy. Some specific supplies needed is a pencil, agenda, notebook, paper, homework and vocabulary notebook. Charley was surprised with all the supplies he needed because before he would only bring a pencil. However since he now knows what to bring he will always be prepared. He does not want to get a tardy because a tardy will also lead to lunch detention if a student has too many.

Perseverance and setting yourself up to win
The last two pillars of success is perseverance and setting yourself up to WIN. Although there are many assignments and projects that are due, every student finishes in their own way. They either have well planned risks and they believe that they will get their work done. Charley at the end of hearing about success changed his whole perspective on school. He did not know that knowing the five pillars of success was that important.

The Successful Charley
From then on, nobody ever heard of Charley hurting anyone. He was a straight A student and he was the first kid to ever get a 50 on his composition on the first try. Charley from then on never had to write another composition ever again. In fact in his spare time he began making a group to help stop bullying in schools. He used the 5 pillars of success in his group and taught other kids about success too. Who would have thought that a bully would change and become successful.
