National Honor Society November Meeting

The Four Pillars of NHS AKA Why Are We Here?

Service NHS students voluntarily contribute to his or her school and community, done without compensation and with a positive, courteous, and enthusiastic spirit Service is us helping others in our community. You represent our school so commit and follow through because people are counting on you when they reach out.

Scholarship NHS students are dedicated to academic achievement and knowledge acquired through study. Scholarship means a commitment to learning. Students should be willing to spend hours in reading and study, knowing the lasting benefits of a cultivated mind. We should continue to learn even when formal education has ended, for education ends only with the end of life. Taylor NHS students can extend and exhibit their scholarship through our NHS tutoring opportunities.

Character NHS students uphold principles of morality and ethics, are cooperative, demonstrate high standards of honesty and reliability, and we show courtesy, concern, and respect for others. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Be mature and act professional. :)

Leadership NHS students are leaders who are resourceful, good problem solvers, promoters of school activities, idea-contributors, dependable, and persons who exemplify positive attitudes about life NHS students lead by example. We represent what Taylor students are capable of being and achieving. Our leadership is from our service and how we conduct ourselves because it inspires those around us to follow suit. We serve our community because we take the initiative to do so. Others may not think to do it so we must step up and motivate others.
