Mrs. Trippensee is our Instructional Assistant. She is with us all day. We are so excited to have her in our school family!

Daily Folders: Please check these each day and return to school. Monday Folders: Come home each Monday. Please review your child’s work with them and return the folder on Tuesdays.

AT HOME Read to and with your child each day!
Have your student draw a picture. They can label the picture. Have them write a sentence about it.

At Home Be sure your child starts at the top when forming letters and numbers Practice writing numbers 1-10 Practice counting to 100 by 1’s and 10’s Recognize shapes in the environment (2D & 3D)

Rainbow words We will be sending home words in the colors of the rainbow. Please practice these each night (5 minutes). These are sight words or “Popcorn Words.” These are words that your child cannot sound out. They must know these automatically. On Fridays, your child will read the words. Once your student masters the color, I will send home another color to practice.

Reading Students will participate in guided reading each week.
Books will come home (on your child’s appropriate level) and these books should be read and returned the next day in their blue reading folder.

Standards Based Grading
Level 4- Student consistently demonstrates an in depth understanding of the standard, concept or skill. “I can show you how I apply it.” Level 3- Student consistently demonstrates an understanding of the standard, concept or skill. “I understand and can explain it.” Level 2- Student is approaching an understanding of the standard, concept or skill. “I almost get it but I need support.” Level 1- Student does not yet demonstrate an understanding of standard, concept or skill. “I do not understand it.”

Specials Specials are the same for a whole week.
Specials schedule is on our classroom website. Specials: -PE Art -Media -Computer -Music

Volunteers All volunteers from last year must reactivate their volunteer clearance as soon as possible. New applicants must register/criminal record check before volunteering. You can come to school and register in the Media Center You will need a Level 3 clearance to go on field trips. You must renew it each year. Not transferable between family members.
