The TIM is designed to:
assist schools and districts in evaluating the level of technology integration in classrooms
provide teachers with models of how technology can be integrated into instruction in meaningful ways

2. Levels of Technology Integration
Entry – teacher uses tools to deliver instruction
Adoption – teacher directs students in use of tools
Adaptation – teacher facilitates students in exploring and independently using tools
Infusion – teacher provides context for lesson; students choose tools
Transformation – innovative use of technology; higher-order learning activities may not have been completed without use of technology

3. Characteristics of the Learning Environment
Students use technology tools to:
Active – remain engaged in learning
Collaborative – collaborate with others
Constructive – connect new information to prior knowledge
Authentic - link learning activities to the real world
Goal-Directed - set goals, plan activities, monitor progress, and evaluate results
