The History The Smithsonian American Art Museum is dedicated to the art and artists of the United States. All regions, cultures, and traditions in this country are represented in the museum's collections, research resources, exhibitions, and public programs. Colonial portraiture, nineteenth-century landscape, American impressionism, twentieth-century realism and abstraction, New Deal projects, sculpture, photography, prints and drawings, contemporary crafts, African American art, Latino art, and folk art are featured in the collection. More than 7,000 American artists are represented by their art in the museum.

Interesting Facts Formerly the National Museum of American Art, and commonly called American Art. The Smithsonian American Art Museum is the nation’s first collection of American art. It’s one of the largest and most expansive collections in the world. Three centuries of American art can be found throughout the museum’s two locations. Thousands of artists are represented in the museum’s collections.

Reflection After creating this powerpoint, I would recommend this museum to people because it is a unique experience to have. I have learned a lot about this museum in just the short time I spent looking at information about it.
