Tiered Assessments (tests)
“A” test- I will say five words from the 12 on your list. You will need to be able to spell the words correctly in a paragraph using context clues (definition explanation). You will be given a theme or picture to write your paragraph on. (After the unit one test, you will have five words from the current list then two recycled words from the previous list.) - Possible 100% “C” test- I will give you five words. You must also spell the words correctly. You will use these words, one each sentence, and use context clues. Possible 75% No re-takes, so make sure you study!!!

“A” Test Sentence Rules
You must spell each word correctly Seven to eight sentences minimum/one word per sentence Highlight the vocabulary word and circle the context clues Sentences may not state a definition of the word, but show understanding of the meaning through the content of the sentence Eliminate contractions, cliches, slang phrases, and abbreviations Never use the words: things, stuff, a lot, good, or bad

Instructions Make flash cards from your vocabulary list with the word on one side and the full definition, a sentence using the word (different from the list I gave you), and a memory trick on the other side Full Definition Sentence w/ word (different from list) Memory Trick Vocab Word
