2 Hot Desert A hot desert is a region of land that is very dry and hot, and receives little precipitation

3 Geography Very flat, low elevations Located around the equator
Often at or below sea level

4 Climate Extremely dry and hot, temperatures average 25-degrees-Celsius (Max 45) Not much animal and plant life due to heat

5 Precipitation Experiences little to no rainfall
Average of 15cm of rain per year As temperature rises, rainfall decreases dramatically

6 Seasonality/Winds During the winter, experiences a little more rain, still barely any difference Summers are extremely dry and arid Winds can be strong enough to make sandstorms

7 Life In the Desert Not many animals, majority are small
Plants have unique adaptations, such as the cactus (stores water) Camels, rattlesnakes, cacti, coyotes, hawks, lizards, sage bushes

8 Indigenous People Egyptians, Native Americans, Aboriginals, Atacama peoples Very few, due to harsh climate and landscape Irrigation systems are utilized

9 Other Biomes Hot Deserts are the hottest, and receive the least precipitation next to the Tundra Have the lowest biodiversities
