Poetry Grading Checklist Each poem should contain the following:
Title of Poem: 1 pt. each item: 10+ lines; typed Figurative language (simile, metaphor, personification, alliteration, onomatopoeia, or hyperbole) – underline and label. Imagery – underline and label. Word choice is expressive and descriptive and sounds like the writer. Tone, Mood, or Theme comes through. Organized in a way that makes sense with proper line breaks and/or stanzas. Minimal spelling, caps. errors. Colored picture or artwork neatly displayed. 1 draft of poem that shows revisions.
