SYPHILIS A chronic disease that affects almost any organ or tissue in the body. Caused by chlamydia and gonorrhea Primary stage, secondary stage, and late stage Syphilis usually sores on the genitals, vagina, anus, lips, and in or on mouth. Pregnant women can pass it on to their babies.

Syphilis: Side Effects
Severe belly pain or cramps Vaginal itching or discharge Depression Nausea or vomiting Swelling, hives on face, lips, tongue, or throat Decreased Urine

Syphilis: Treatment An injection of penicillin will cure the person in less than a year. Syphilis is easy to cure in it’s first stages. Getting treatment will not repair damage that has already been done.

A disease infecting the woman’s reproductive organs. The most serious complication of STI’s Affects the uterus, ovaries, and fallopian tubes. Over a million women get PID each year in North America.

PID Treatment Can be cured with several types of antibiotics.
The antibiotics do not cure the damage that has already been done. Get regular gynecological exams. Psychotherapy is for women that have a fear that the PID in them still exists.

PID Statistics 1 in 10 women will experience PID at least once in their life. 75 % of cases of PID occur in women under 25 y ears old. 100,000 women become infertile each year because of PID.
