1 Baptism of Jesus Christ
Offering his whole soul as an offering to God

2 This thing is a similitude of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten of the Father, which is full of grace and truth. Wherefore, thou shalt do all that thou doest in the name of the Son, and thou shalt repent and call upon God in the name of the Son forevermore. (Moses 5:7-8)

3 Animal is Dismembered Leviticus 1:5-9 The animal is . . . . . killed

4 Baptism of Jesus Christ
2 Nephi 31:7 Know ye not that he was holy? But notwithstanding he being holy, he showeth unto the children of men that, according to the flesh he humbleth himself before the Father, and witnesseth unto the Father that he would be obedient unto him in keeping his commandments.

5 Burnt Offering: The Whole or Consecration Offering
“And now, my beloved brethren, I would that ye should come unto Christ, who is the Holy One of Israel, and partake of his salvation, and the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him, and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him, and continue in fasting and praying, and endure to the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved.” (Omni 1:26)

6 Burnt Offering: The Whole or Consecration Offering
Romans 12:1-2 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

7 Burnt Offering: The Whole or Consecration Offering
Romans 6 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. ... 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, … 18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness. … 22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

8 Jesus Christ is Beloved Son
Matthew 3:13-17 13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. 14 But John forbade him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. 16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: 17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

In light of this account of Christ’s baptism, I find the following interesting— The name David means “beloved” God announces Jesus as His Son—in the Davidic Covenant, of the new king, the Lord said, “I will be his father, and he shall be my son” (2 Sam. 7:14)

12 Jesus Christ is Beloved Son
In light of this account of Christ’s baptism, I find the following interesting— In a Psalm referencing the coronation of the king of Israel, states: “Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill in Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.” (Psalms 2:6-8)
