Mrs. Kelly September 20, 2013 Swoopin’ into Our Studies Reading: Animal’s Building Homes -Words With ending blends --text graphics and features -Base Words and prefixes un- and re- Math: Chapter 4 --place value -comparing numbers -before, after, and between numbers -reading and writing numbers Grammar: More Plural Nouns -plural nouns in es -groups of nouns Writing: Writing a True Story -We will have a graded assignment Homework: AR should be done nightly! Math- Students will have nightly math homework, except on Fridays. Study spelling words! Fast Facts Homework is for a grade. If your child doesn’t turn it in on the day it is due, they will receive a Zero in the gradebook (unless absent). Some students are still not doing homework. Students should know what their homework is nightly. We are in need of gallon and quart size baggies. Thank you for donating to United Way and participating in crazy hat/hair day. Website of the Week: This website is great for children to practice phonics, spelling, and reading comprehension. Students should know username and password to access site. Teacher News Please send in Boxtops. For every 5-10 sent in, your child can earn an extra recess. You may check our second grade website for pictures from previous activities we have done. Also, there are pictures of Grandparents’ Day on there. Important Dates: Picture Day will be October 4th. More information will be sent home. Paragon Sales begin Sept. 19th. Book orders are due Sept. 23rd. You may also order online.
