Preparation Before Senior Year
Determine post high school direction College savings & investment plan *contact a financial planner *examine print resources Student part time job Investigate & apply for scholarships Continue with steps during senior year

Steps during Senior Year
October-November- Complete college applications October-December -Complete college admissions testing November-Obtain Federal Student Aid Pin # December-Collect all student & parent pay stubs January- *Apply for Free Application Student Financial Aid (FAFSA) *Attend California Cash for College Workshop

Steps During Senior Year Continued
January- Apply for Cal Grant if attending a CA college or trade school after completing FAFSA form February- Check status of Cal Grants, Fill out Cal Grant GPA Verification Form March- March 2-last day to submit FAFSA application March-May- Quickly respond to all requests from universities and financial aid offices May- *Send acceptance letter to university * Take AP exams for college credit

AB 540 Undocumented Immigrant Students
May apply for college by fulfilling the following requirements -attend a CA high school for a minimum of 3 years -graduate from a CA high school -sign an affidavit with the intent to apply for legal residency when eligible -will pay in-state tuition Ineligible for Cal Grants or FAFSA (will qualify for both after obtaining legal residency) Eligible for private scholarships
