Any questions or concerns about what we’ll be doing this year?

Are you telling me that: Times have changed?
Society thinks differently now? How? What has caused this change?
7
I want to speak out about a social issue
I want to speak out about a social issue. I want my voice to be heard by the masses. How do I do this?

Key concepts: Texts reflect ideas in society at particular moments in time. These ideas can change over time. Texts reflect contextual issues or concerns. Texts have the power to voice these ideas for a reason. These contextual issues are represented in particular ways for particular purposes. It is not just the ideas that have meaning, but the way in which they are presented. Composers make deliberate choices when representing contextual ideas to achieve their aims.
