4. Revising for Style
On your clean draft, please label each sentence with what kind of sentence it is (simple, compound, complex) in one of your body paragraphs.
Identify what sentence type you use most frequently.
Revise at least three of your sentences to vary your style. Highlight those for the final draft. Those sentences can be anywhere in your draft.

In an attempt to vary your sentence structure, look for places in your draft to add three participles. Here are some verbs that will help you create those participles.

If you use the following words in your essay, revise them for better ones.

7. To Be Verbs
Replace the to be verb with a better verb. Think about what the subject is doing, not existing as. A better verb is usually lurking in the rest of the sentence.
