Ohm’s Law When a graph of voltage (V) against current (I) is plotted, a straight line graph through the origin is obtained. This shows that V is directly proportional to I is a constant for the same conductor. This relationship is known as Ohm’s law. Ohm’s law states that the current that flows through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage across the ends of the conductor.

Relationship of V, I, R Conductors with a constant value for the ratio 𝑉 𝐼 are said to obey Ohm’s law. According to Ohm’s law, the ratio 𝑉 𝐼 is a measurement of resistance that acts against the flow of current through a conductor. Thus, the relationship between voltage (V), current (I), and resistance (R) can be written as:
