Judgement Is there such a thing as a completely “good” or a completely “bad” character in a novel? Is it possible to create one that is independent of a reader’s interpretation? How could it be done? If it can’t be done, what challenges must an author overcome if he or she is trying to present a character as fundamentally “good” or “bad”? How can an author indicate to a reader that a character is “good” or “bad” – or both?
