Who is the “best” character in the novel? WHY?

3 Character Groups #1-Harker #2-Dracula #3-Mina #4-Lucy #5-Van Helsing
In minutes… identify a list of criteria that will determine if your character is “good” or “bad.” discuss your character and decide if they are a “good” character or a “bad” character. Make a list of “good” and “bad” qualities of your character according to your criteria. Present to the class.

4 Judgement Is there such a thing as a completely “good” or a completely “bad” character in a novel? Is it possible to create one that is independent of a reader’s interpretation? How could it be done? If it can’t be done, what challenges must an author overcome if he or she is trying to present a character as fundamentally “good” or “bad”? How can an author indicate to a reader that a character is “good” or “bad” – or both?
