2 Opening activity Draw the wellness continuum
Put a Large circle where you would have put yourself on Friday. Using arrows, show how decisions over the weekend affected your place on the continuum (3 arrows at least). Put a dot where you ended up today 2

You see a game: You pay $4 to play and the guy tells you that you increase your chances more and more every time you play The Prize: Pay the man $20,000 (you pay) Why or why wouldn’t you play the game? 3

4 OA #3 (not written) Imagine there are 3 boxes placed outside your door with a sign reading: “Your choice will determine how your life will proceed” Decisions that will make you healthy Decisions that could make you unhealthy Decisions that could kill you Which box would you choose? The answer seems clearcut right? When you make real life decisions do you stop to think about which box you are choosing?

6 Primary Prevention - (stoping it before it happens/ eliminating the risk) - relates to those actions that change the environment: physically, socially, to reduce the likelihood that disease will occur (ex… hand washing).

7 Secondary Prevention-
Indicates early detection and treatment. ~Common for most people ~Status Quo in the USA ~What is wrong with this?

8 Tertiary Prevention- Takes an unnecessary toll on the body.
*Prevents you from participation in your daily routine. - You ignored the warning signs and have worse consequences
