2. Acting with HONOR means:
Being kind to your classmates
Showing respect to all adults on campus:
Teachers
Substitutes
Secretaries
Custodians
Cafeteria
Parents
Visitors
Following the dress code:
Natural hair color
Wear school uniform/ID
No Hats, pajamas, slippers
No piercings other than in the ears.
No sagging pants (pants will be zip tied to stay on waist)
No “earbuds” visible

3. BACKPACKS and HOODIES
Students may bring backpacks and wear hoodies to school but must leave them in their lockers before 1st period.

4. Act with HONOR
Show respect to your school.
Pick up trash when you see it.
Don’t tag on building, desks, walls, benches, chairs, etc.
Treat the school as if it were your second home – because it is.
Be on your best behavior during Safety Drills to keep everyone safe.
No talking
Follow teacher directions
Stay in a single file line and with your class.

5. Act with HONOR Decorating your Locker Sharing a Locker is not allowed
If your locker is broken report it to the office.
If you share a locker with someone you will be held responsible for what ever is found in the locker.
If you share a locker things may go missing and there will be no way to track down who took it.
Decorating your Locker
You can decorate only the INSIDE of your locker.
You may not put any stickers or permanent fixtures on or in your locker.
Never leave food or drink in your locker overnight– it brings bugs.

6. Act with HONOR Confiscated electronics:
Follow the District and School Electronics Policy
Cell phones and other electronics must be turned off and out of sight during the school day.
Please be aware the school will not be responsible for any damaged, lost, or stolen cell phones or electronics.
Confiscated electronics:
If a phone or electronic device is picked up and turned into the office a parent must pick it up and speak with an administrator.
Each offense will result in progressive discipline actions.

7. Acting with COURAGE means:
Doing the right thing even when others are not.
Letting others know that it is not okay to use foul language, bully, or tease others.
Walking away from a fight rather than starting or participating in one.
Using your best manners in the cafeteria.
Throw your trash away.
Use an “inside voice” while visiting with your friends.
Leave the cafeteria clean and ready for the next group of students to have lunch.

8. Act with COURAGE
Show a positive attitude!
Positive people are in short supply and high demand.
Talk to a teacher, parent, counselor, or administrator if you are having problems with a friend or other students.
Let an adult know if you see someone in the building without an ID.
For safety reasons everyone in the building should have an ID tag: Students, Teachers, and Visitors.

9. Acting with COMMITMENT means:
Taking your school work seriously and doing your best.
Actively participating in lessons.
Learn more. Exceed expectations. Be invaluable to your class!
Get involved in school activities like:
Choir
Band
Orchestra
Theatre / Speech / Debate
Yearbook
Student Council
Athletics
Academic UIL
Clubs

10. Act with COMMITMENT Come to school every day! If you are sick…
School begins at 8:20, be here BEFORE school starts.
6th Grade – reports to Theatre
7th Grade – reports to Gym
8th Grade – reports to Cafeteria
School ends at 3:25, once you leave campus you are not allowed to return.
Nimitz is a “Closed Campus” which means that students may not leave campus once they arrive until the school day ends.
If you are sick…
Have a parent call the school attendance office.
When you return, bring a note from home or the doctor to the attendance office.
Any medication must be brought to the nurse in a pharmacy labeled container by an adult.
Get with your teacher to make up missed work.
The law states that students must be present 90% of the school year.

11. Act with COMMITMENT Be ON TIME to school and class everytime!
Teachers will start class when the bell rings.
No student will be allowed to leave the first and last 10 minutes of class.
Students will sign the “Tardy Log” in class after the bell.
Any student in the hall between classes must have a pass.
Wear your school ID on your lanyard everyday.
Almost every profession requires ID’s to be worn, school is no different. ID’s help identify who should be here on campus.
Students need their ID to leave the classroom, check out books, attend school events, eat lunch.
Teachers will submit names to the office of students who do not have an ID.
If a student is without an ID for 3 days they will be required to purchase a new ID for $5.
ID’s will be taken Friday and Monday
