3. Utah studies show that teens who earn a “C” or lower school grade, in addition to smoking tobacco, drinking alcohol or getting high on drugs, even dating steadily, are more likely to be sexually active.

4. Fathers of the child are not generally teens themselves.

5. Teen birth rates in both Utah and the United States are 4-5 times higher than the rates in most western European countries.

7. Utah teens (15-19) aborted 12% of pregnancies, women aborted only 5% of pregnancies. Utah health districts had the highest percentages of teen pregnancies resulting in an induced abortion.
