2 Warm-Up: Tuesday, November 4
PAGE 250 Objective: To peer edit papers and learn about the APA format Question: In a research paper, what do you have to cite and what do you not have to cite?

3 STEM Research Paper Peer Review
Step 1: Write a five sentence summary of your research paper narrative. This should take you roughly five minutes. Write this on page 253 of your journals.

4 STEM Research Paper Peer Review
Step 2: Switch papers with a partner and have that person complete a story map (on the next page) for your narrative. Remember to include all elements from yesterday’s story map (beginning and ending year, conflict, climax, resolution, etc.) in today’s. This should take roughly fifteen minutes.

5 STEM Research Paper Peer Review
Step 3: The peer reviewer of your narrative will now write a five sentence summary of your narrative research paper. Use the space below to write this summary. This should take you roughly five minutes.

6 STEM Research Paper Peer Review
Step 4: This is the last step for the peer reviewer. Answer these two questions in at least three complete sentences. This should take you roughly five minutes. What does the author of the narrative do well? Where is there confusion in the narrative about who is talking or what is going on? How can the author improve upon these minor flaws?

Step 5 Answer the following questions in three complete sentences. What parts of your story maps are the same? What parts are different? What parts of the five sentence summary are the same? What parts are different? Paragraph response: why do you think there are some inconsistencies between your responses and your reviewer's responses? Regardless of whether or not there are differences between your version and the reader's version, what can you do to improve upon your narrative? (Six Sentences)

8 APA Formatting Walkthrough
APA Formatting Practice (Page 254) Instructions: On page 254 of your journals, do the following activities for your research sources. Write out the in text parenthetical citations for all three of your sources using this basic format: (Author, year, p. number) Note: Some sources do not have page numbers, omit it. Write out the reference list citations for all three of your sources using the correct formatting listed on this worksheet.
