1 Welcome back! 2-25-13 Today we will warm up with a simulated test.
The test will challenge your science reasoning skills while preparing you for the upcoming tests in your near future: ACT, MME, SAT, ASVAB, tests you take in college, etc. Procedure: Read "Passage 1" and answer the six (6) questions based on the information provided. When done, quietly wait until instructed. You will turn this in for credit.

2 Now that you've completed the questions, turn to the person sitting next to you and compare answers.
Each table should come to an agreement as to which answers are best and make necessary corrections to their papers. Be sure you have discussed why you chose the answer, as you'll be called on to explain. Put your first and last name at the top of the page along with the date and class period.

3 If you would like a study guide to help you prepare for the ACT/MME,
see Mr. Kipp and he will provide one for you.

4 Reminders: We finished up Chapters 12 & 13 on Gravity. We took the test over Chapters 12 & 13 last Thursday, If you were absent, you will need to schedule a time to take the test and/or complete any other assignments that you may have missed ASAP. Use the blog to get all info for last Friday's assignment.

5 Pass back graded papers.
We will go over the Rotational Equilibrium lab before you file it away in your portfolio.

We will now begin a totally new unit based around the concepts of waves, vibrations, sound and light. There is no lecture or notes today. Instead, we will watch the following video that introduces the concepts of waves and vibrations. Y

Waves are the movement of energy through material that isn't moving very much. Waves are created by the vibration of something. Longitudinal vs. Transverse waves High frequency vs. low frequency waves

8 Each student will get a list of the same questions.
Today's assignment: Each student will get a list of the same questions. Each student and a partner will work together to answer each of the questions. Use Chapter 25 (pg. 372). Each student needs to work through and understand both the question and the answer (Please, no "copy fest").
