Covers the surface of the body Protective barrier : microorganisms, fluid loss, maintain internal temp. Excretes wastes ****Homeostasis Structures: skin (integument) Skin has 2 layers: epidermis (superficial) and dermis (deep) Below is layer of fat (hypodermis) which anchors skin to underlying structures

protection of internal organs storage of mineral salts site for blood cell formation Structures: bones, joints and tissue connecting them 206 bones in human body Axial skeleton: head, trunk Appendicular skeleton: arms, legs

6 Muscular System Functions: body movement, posture, form support of skeleton, maintaining body temp (homeostasis) Structures: muscles and tissues

Functions: move material through body, waste, nutrients, blood Structures: blood vessels, heart, capillaries
