How did New Testament come about?
Jesus’ disciples began to share the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus orally. The disciples told and retold the eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ preaching, healing, miracles, death on the cross, and resurrection. Years later, some of these stories were written down and added to the Bible.

Why do Catholics read the Bible?
It is the Word of God. To learn about how God was preparing people to receive Jesus Christ (Old Testament) To learn about the life and teachings of Jesus (Gospels) To learn about the life of the early Church (Acts of the Apostles, Letters of St. Paul)
