2 Trans-Saharan Trade Trade route that stretched across the Sahara Desert Gold and Salt were the most valuable Salt is a mineral needed for good health Salt = Gold in value Any good that can be bought or sold is known as a commodity

3 Mediterranean Zone provided weapons, cloth, and spices for trade

4 Desert Zone Provided rock salt. It is a necessary mineral for human health. It was traded south into the Savanna and Tropical Rain forest Zones. People traveled on Camels to transfer goods

5 Savanna Zone cattle, donkeys, and cotton were traded.
Gold was located in the Savanna in the Bambuk-Bure gold fields. donkeys and cattle would transports goods

6 Rainforest Zone Kola nuts, a high in caffeine nut.
Gold was also located in the rain forest in the Akan gold field Humans and ships transferred goods because the tsetse fly would kill animals
