Description And Rationale Cont’d
INTASC Standard, Description And Rationale Cont’d Brief Description For this assignment, I will be giving a PowerPoint presentation describing parental involvement with education in schools. The presentation will identify how involved a student’s parents are in their education. Rationale To my understanding of Standard #3, Learning Environments, for my Contemporary Issues PowerPoint Project, because it not only includes students learning in school but at home as well. To my knowledge, parents must encourage their child to be engaged in learning, be motivated in and out of school, and support individual and collaborative learning.

Parental Involvement In Education
Parents are becoming more and more involved with their child’s education. They help their child with classwork issues, social issues, and activity issues. Typically, this benefits all three parties (teacher/parent/child). This creates multiple environments that are very adequate for student learning. ELABORATE IF YOU FEEL IT IS NECESSARY This opens up a line of communication between teacher/parent/child. Such as school, home, the library, etc.

Parental Involvement In Education
Educators and parents must work together and have good communication to enrich the learning environment of the student. Parents and teachers, collectively, must encourage positive social interaction, the active engagement in learning, and a strong self motivation for students. Parents must understand what is being taught to the child, and to do that…they must communicate with the teacher to discover what the curriculum is. This is to provide the support at home necessary for the child if they need help with any homework or projects. Communication is essential to create a good learning environment. Encouraging positive social interaction with their peers helps children develop the appropriate social skills necessary to thrive later in life. Being actively engaged in learning ensures that the child will have the opportunity to succeed and grasp the material. Parents and teachers must also promote self motivation for students to do homework and other assorted projects or assignments in, and out of, school.
