2. What do you see?
Read and listen to the passage below, write down what you envision on a sheet of paper.
Oh, what a lovely office! All full of mahogany and polish, the office was purchased with endless overtime and self-sacrifice. The water cooler, a gift from the president of the firm himself, glows, with the rays of the noonday sun. The office is bathed in copious pools of warmth, as if the room is showing off its wonderful southern exposure. Nowhere in the building can a view be found to rival the view from the businessman's corner office window.

3. The Descriptive Essay: Group Work, work
In your group of 5, each group member is to assign themselves one of the roles listed below:
WORD WATCHER: Make a list of significant terms and definitions from the reading that can help clarify and understand the content.
2. SUMMARIZER: Summarize the content to include the main points.
QUESTIONER: Generate questions about the content, which allow for further understanding, and about content that was confusing.
CLARIFIER: Clarify any sections that can possibly be confusing for others and address the questions posed by the Questioner.
PREDICTOR: Make a connection to prior knowledge or another section in the unit, predict how the content and techniques can be used in your writing or in the work of others.

4. The Descriptive Essay: Group Work, present
Once you have completed the work for your role, independently. You are now going to share your work with your group AND ENSURE EVERYONE HAS THE NOTES!! THESE ARE YOUR NOTES FOR THE LESSON!
Each individual in the group will be given 5 minutes to share their work as other members in the group take notes on the presentation
You will be stopped after 5 minutes and will be asked to move on to the next role. Please use this time wisely!!
