Description The title of the artwork informs you what your looking at and who the painting is of. This helps you learn what you’re looking at. This painting uses different line qualities on the outline of the body show the form. The other lines used help creates the look of the original sketch of the character. There is a brightly colored background in the back that gives the painting a “wow factor”. I see circles that make up his ears and face. The techniques used in this artwork are silk screens. In Warhol’s opinion they worked better because they lasted longer. Warhol also used synthetic polymer paint because it showed up better on the silk.

Analysis The focal point of the art work that I see first is the vibrant white head of the character. The elements in this painting doesn’t create a pattern. My eyes follow the lines that make up the sketch marks of the character. The proportions are normal for the character shown. There is a special balance between the background in the character. The character contrast with the background used in the painting.

I think the character in this painting has a good contrast with the background. I think this painting is unique because of the way its formatted with the character. Its also unique because of how the character is positioned other artist would have the character up right. Warhol did this because its makes the character look happier.
