Objectives 1. Increase fluency through participation in a choral reading 2. Analyze the dreams possessed by George and Lennie in “Of Mice and Men” 3. Explain the concept of the “American Dream” 4. Apply the concept of the “American Dream” to characters in “Of Mice and Men” and to your own life.

Choral Reading Why: To build fluency (increase efficiency and reading comprehension) 1. Assign roles. 2. Every person quietly read through and prepare for reading. (As you read, think: “How would the character say these lines?”) 3. Stand in a small group and read the parts aloud.
