This is where we left off in powerpoint instructions 1, you are painting the mask on your face.
13. So now the first thing that you need to do is to reveal only a suitable part of the texture. To do this, select the texture layer, and go to Layer > Layer Mask > Hide All. Grab the Brush Tool (B) with a soft white color and paint on a mask as indicated.

Make sure in the layers palette you select Multiply

Next you are going to soften the edges of your face
Next you are going to soften the edges of your face. Click on the eyes in layer pallet to see only you’re the first image of your face. Go to the tool bar>Click on the Lasso tool>draw a circle on the outside edge of your face. Make sure you are on that layer. Select>inverse>go to filter>blur>Gaussian blur>use the slider to soften the edges of your face somewhere around 4 pixels.

Next we need to add some contrast to improve the image
Next we need to add some contrast to improve the image. Go to the tool bar>click on the burn tool>at the top of the page>select shadows>put the tool size to around 20>select the first soft circle>create shadows, around the eyes, sides of the face, under the lip, experiment to see what looks best.

16. Your almost done with your face but you want it to be saturated with color. Click back on your eyes to reveal your mask. Go to the right hand corner of the layers palette>Duplicate the mask layer>Set the Blending tool>to Overlay

17. Now go to the top of the page Image>Adjustments>Shadows and Highlights> Move the sliders around so your image is saturated with color and looks dramatic Before After

In this section I am going to give you guide lines but how you add color and texture will really depend on what you want your portrait to look like. Get Creative, have fun with this section

Magic wand>hold shift key down>select all the white areas>select inverse>copy>paste on to your face This is where you determine what looks good, erase parts, Set the blending tool to overlay, dark color, vivid light to determine what looks best.
