Colour Harmony: when colours work well together and are pleasing to the eye, creating a sense of inner balance. Some examples: Cool Colours Cool Warm Warm Colours Earth Colours

Harmonious Colours How can we tell which colours work harmoniously?
1) Use your eyes, does it look nice? 2) Follow some simple rules to help you Complementary colours are Harmonious Split complementary colours are Harmonious 3) Use your surroundings to help you Analogous colours are Harmonious Triadic colours are Harmonious Look at nature What colours would you have in your living room?

The mixture of a colour with white, adding lightness The mixture of a colour with black, adding darkness

Black and White Are Black and White colours?
Black and white are not considered to be colours They are tones of light and dark and everything in between They may be added to colours to create tints and shades
