A simple sentence has one subject and one predicate.
It has one person doing one thing. Let’s look at some examples.

Examples: I love dancing. My dog’s name is Buster.
I live in the house with the red door. She went to the dentist yesterday. Please send me an . Tommy needs to do the dishes. Angela wants to go eat pizza. Francie is wearing a dress today.

Examples: They went to the new restaurant, for they heard it had the best salad bar. She went to the concert, and bought a t-shirt. He didn’t like plays, nor did he like movies. They went to the party, but they didn’t stay long. Eat some breakfast, or your stomach will hurt. She was sick, yet she went to school. He was good at cooking, so they asked him to make lunch.

Punctuation: The Comma
Use a comma after the first independent sentence when linking two sentences using a conjunction. The Semi-colon Use a semicolon when linking two simple sentences without a conjunction. Semi-colons can also be used when using conjunctions like “however”, “therefore”, and “moreover”.

Examples: -Raj sits quietly in the garden, and he wants to be alone.
-Tigers have stripes; they also have teeth. -She said yes, but she wasn't sure. -Pay attention, or you won’t understand. -I don’t like coffee, nor do I like tea. -They couldn't travel back; therefore they decided to camp for the night.
