Facts about Melanoma Deadliest form of skin cancer
Can spread to the body’s major organs = body shuts down Can develop in places that aren’t exposed to the sun Most melanomas are spotted by you, as the patient! It’s a young people's cancer Genetic risk factors (pale skin, light hair, 50+ moles, family history, etc.) 1 in 50 Americans develop melanoma in their lifetime

90% melanomas caused by UV radiation exposure One bad burn can double your chances of developing melanoma Use before 30 increases chances of developing melanoma by 75% Occasional use triples your chances It’s addictive Sun damage is cumulative NO such thing as a ‘safe tan’
