1863 Octate Law John Newlands proposed the Law of the Octates.

1869 Periods Mendeleev ordered the elements like newlands.

1860’s Periodic Law Mendeleev and Meyer made an 8 column table. Mendeleev said that all the elements in the same column have similar characteristics. Periodic law: Properties of the elements are a periodic fuction of their “A”.
