6 Topics Sometimes the topic will be HL, however all students must turn up to all lessons to be registered before being dismissed. SL: Cell biology Molecular biology Genetics Ecology Evolution and biodiversity Human physiology HL: Nucleic acids Metabolism, cell respiration and photosynthesis Plant biology Genetics and evolution Animal physiology Option (SL & HL)

8 The following are lab rules that MUST be followed during all lab lessons:
Students should follow strictly and immediately all instructions given by a teacher. Students should not enter the laboratory unless a teacher is present. Students are prohibited from entering the preparation room. Students should not tamper with anything in the laboratory or remove anything from it without permission. Students should not rush around or play in the laboratory. Eating and/or drinking are not allowed in the laboratory (water is allowed only in theory lessons) Long hair must be properly tied. Students should immediately report all accidents and breakages to the teacher. Experiments under way should not be left unattended. 10. Laboratory reagents and chemicals should be returned to the appropriate place immediately after use, with their labels facing the front. 11. Clean up and check all apparatus you have used before you leave the laboratory. 12. Keep the sink clean and free from scrap pieces of paper and broken glassware. 13. Wash your hands as soon as possible after leaving the laboratory since they may be contaminated with chemicals Lab Safety Rules Signed: Date:
