Question 14

Question 14: Use the numbers shown to make the equations true. Each number can be used only once. ,000 10 8 √ = ____ 4 10 √ = ____ 3 100 64 You are looking to find the square root of a number and a cube root of a number. There are two different answer choices that will satisfy both equations. The equations that will work are: Square Root 64 = 8 and Cube Root 1000 = OR Square Root 100 = 10 and Cube Root 64 = 4 In order to find a square root, the students need to look for something that when multiplied by itself gives you another number. For example, the square root of 4 is 2 because 2 * 2 is equal to 4. The other possible square roots are: 64 (8*8), 100 (10*10). Since both of those have their corresponding root, you might be able to use them. Since you can only use each number once, you have to look for your cubes. The cubes are 8 (2*2*2), 64 (4*4*4) and 1000 *(10*10*10). Now you need to pick your answers accordingly, making sure to use each number once. The first four clicks of the powerpoint will show the answers 1, 2, 3, 4 and the fifth one will delete those to make way for the next set of answer. 1000 64
