Objective: Create a 3+ paragraph about who is the most moral of all the characters in “The Short, Happy Life of Francis Macomber.” Goal: Analyze complex characters, how they interact, move the story along, etc.

Partner work with partners to put together paragraphs. Write body paragraphs for our essays. Take notes on conclusions HOMEWORK: finish conclusion and essay for Tuesday

Body Paragraph Minor claim: The point you are making in the paragraph. What specifically are you talking about in THIS paragraph. Evidence: The thing outside of yourself that proves your point. This is your textual evidence. Commentary: Commentary is the response to the evidence not the minor claim. You explain why your evidence is important. Evidence Commentary

With your partner You will get two paragraphs cut into strips.
Your job is to put the paragraphs in order. There is a twist. Both paragraphs are combined.

Time to Write Now that you have had some practice it is time to write your body paragraph. Reminders: Your topic sentence talks about what the whole paragraph is about. It should relate to your thesis. You need textual evidence Your commentary is about the evidence
