20 Draw a Picture of What Teaching Means to You!
Fishbowl Discussion: Divide into two groups. One half will form the center circle, facing inward. The other half of the class will form the outer circle, facing inward as well. The students in the inner circle will share out and discuss. The outside circle will be listening to the discussion, making note of interesting, new, or contradictory information. They are not allowed to say a word at this point. The inner and outer circles then will switch positions and repeat the steps above.

27 Active Shooter Situations
Avoid: Know where your exits are. If you can safely exit the facility, do so immediately. See shelter in a save location and call 911. Deny: If exiting is not a possibility, go to the nearest room, lock and/or barricade doors, turn out lights, and move out of sight. Stay quiet and put your phone on silent. Call 911 when it is safe for you to do so. Defend: If you find yourself in an imminent, life threatening situation, use all means necessary to disarm/disable/distract the shooter. Get the weapon away and do whatever you can to defend yourself.
