2 Where we’ve been and where we are going…
Purpose: To grow and improve as a 21st Century Learner Gr 9 Pitstops: Take our Kids to Work Day Okanagan College Trades and Technology fieldtrip – tours and hands-on activities Destination: Resume and Interview skills in May with Mr.Hayhurst Identifying and articulating how you demonstrate you are a 21st Century Learner Presentation of Learning Day – Job Interview Day Friday, June 19th!

3 Learner A Learner is someone who knows making mistakes is okay and does not to give up when things get challenging because it is part of learning and life. Learners understand how they learn best and where they need to improve.

4 Thinker A Thinker is open to new ideas and builds knowledge by using a variety of resources and reflecting on his/her own thinking. Thinkers believe in their ability to solve problems and make good decisions and use their knowledge experience gained to make future decisions.

5 Innovator An Innovator thinks creatively and always tries to look at a problem or idea in a new way. Innovators take initiative to think about things differently and make things better.

6 Contributor A Contributor is someone who, through his/her passions and talents, does their best to protect the environment and be a positive member of their community and the world. Contributors do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.

7 Collaborator A Collaborator understands that when working with people they need to be flexible and share responsibility. Collaborators communicate clearly, follow agreed upon group roles and share the work to complete team and individual tasks.

8 What is collaboration? Collaboration is working together to create something new or better than if you had worked separately. Important elements of collaboration are: Taking responsibility for oneself Cooperating and helping the team Respecting others Making and following agreements Organizing work Working as a whole team
